DFELAB is not affiliated with the American School of Gas Measurement Technology and is not an exhibitor at the 2026 school. We are following the publicly available agenda because the measurement topics closely overlap with our work in remote telemetry.
ASGMT 2026 is happening August 31 through September 3
The 61st American School of Gas Measurement Technology is scheduled at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott in Texas. ASGMT focuses on gas measurement, pressure regulation, flow control and related technical education.
1. SCADA and telemetry in natural gas operations
The important design question is not simply whether telemetry is possible. It is where the data needs to live and what the site actually needs to do with it. R3CON can provide a standalone DFELAB cloud view for remote meter sites, or deliver selected field data into an existing SCADA environment through API, FTP and custom views.
That means a measurement team does not have to choose between a large new automation buildout and a disconnected field site. The existing control system can remain in place while R3CON supplies additional remote visibility.
2. Real-time electronic gas measurement
R3CON is not intended to replace a certified flow computer or custody-transfer meter. The opportunity is to connect to an authorized output from existing measurement equipment and make selected data easier to access remotely.
For pulse-based applications, the pulse factor, output type, authorization and whether the volume is corrected or uncorrected all need to be established before telemetry is trusted.
3. Cloud software for field measurement activities
Collecting a signal is only half the problem. The data needs an identity, timestamp, timezone, history, access control and a useful reporting workflow. A good cloud layer should make the measurement easier to audit and use, not hide it behind another dashboard.
A question for measurement professionals
Where do you still have measurement data that is accurate in the field but inconvenient to access remotely? That could be an auxiliary pulse output, a pressure value, a temperature condition or a small site that is checked manually because nobody can justify a larger telemetry project.
