Can R3CON integrate with an existing SCADA system?

Yes. R3CON can run as a standalone DFELAB cloud monitoring platform or deliver selected remote field data into existing SCADA, historian and reporting workflows through API, FTP and custom views. The receiving system needs to support one of those data interfaces.

Do operators have to use the DFELAB dashboard?

No. The DFELAB cloud backend is available from anywhere and can be the complete operating view, but customers that prefer their existing SCADA or enterprise workflow can integrate R3CON data instead of requiring operators to live in a separate portal.

Is R3CON a replacement for PLC/RTU control logic?

No. Safety-critical logic, interlocks, closed-loop control and engineered actuation should remain in the appropriate control system. R3CON can complement that architecture by adding remote sensing, cloud visibility, reporting, alerts and integrated data delivery.

Can R3CON connect to any gas meter?

The meter or associated measurement equipment must provide an authorized and electrically compatible output. DFELAB reviews the available signal, pulse factor and measurement context before deployment.

Does R3CON change custody-transfer measurement?

No. The gas-monitoring use case observes an approved output from the existing measurement system. R3CON is not the custody-transfer meter and does not change the certified measurement function.

What data can R3CON monitor?

Depending on configuration, the platform can support pressure, temperature, pulse/counter signals, RS-485 field devices, device health and power-state data.

How does data get back from the field?

R3CON uses cellular communications and can retain local data on microSD for resilience, depending on the configured firmware and application.

What happens if cellular coverage is weak?

Cellular suitability should be checked as part of deployment planning. R3CON can retain local data when a connection is unavailable and transmit stored records later when the configured firmware and application support store-and-forward behavior.

Can R3CON run on solar or battery power?

R3CON deployments can be configured around available site power, battery and solar arrangements. The correct power design depends on sensor load, reporting interval, winter conditions and the specific hardware generation being deployed.

Does the trial mean free hardware for everyone?

No. Trial hardware is limited and subject to availability. DFELAB prioritizes applications with a measurable problem and realistic expansion potential. Specialized sensors or installation costs may apply.

What makes a good first deployment?

A good first site is expensive to check manually, operationally important, difficult to instrument conventionally, or representative of many similar assets that could justify expansion if the trial succeeds.

Can measurement or automation companies resell it?

Yes. Qualified integrators and measurement firms can discuss project pricing, installation roles, support, cloud access, SCADA integration and recurring monitoring opportunities.

How is R3CON priced?

Pricing depends on the field unit, sensors, power package, connectivity, cloud and integration requirements. DFELAB provides a per-site hardware and recurring-service quote after those requirements are confirmed.
